The 2016 gsport Awards will definitely go down as one of my personal highlights of this year. The event has grown gradually over the years and it has stayed true to its vision of celebrating icons and role models of women’s sport.

From the passionate singing of the National Anthem to the acceptance speeches and then the after party… I still have a smile on my face when I reflect on that incredible night in August.

It’s a year long effort to produce the Awards and it is encouraging to see it receive national relevance in the past two years. Women’s sport is blessed with incredible individuals who selflessly serving the game.

There are athletes who are pushing boundaries and putting South Africa on the map.

These are the people that should be nominated for a gsport Award.
