Momentum has owned 2019 when it comes to the women narrative.
Momentum’s bold move to flip the script and turn the M into a W started a countrywide movement as women started to boldly own their success.
Their #NoApologyForMySuccess movement is a hit and the #SheOwnsHerSuccess events have taken on a life of their own since its launch in August.
This morning, I had the honour of being MC at the Momentum Investments Women in Financial Services Networking Breakfast, which was an extension of the #SheOwnsHerSuccess events.
Deputy CEO of Momentum Metropolitan Holdings, Jeanette Marais, inspired the gathering through her personal story, which has seen her rise up into one of the most powerful forces in SA financial services over an eventful 28 year journey. A formidable woman with a soft heart who gave so freely to eager women in the room. She always strives for 100%! What a woman!
The incomparable @JeanetteMarais shares her inspiring story in financial services. “I am here because of my attitude.” #NoApologyForMySuccess #SheOwnsHerSuccess @Momentum_za pic.twitter.com/9xePTsamFG

Saray Khumalo, the first African woman to summit Mount Everest told us what happened to her when decided to play big. Her journey of summitting Everest on her fourth attempt and her challenge to fail forward was powerful. She had everyone at the edge of their seats.
“I want to leave the world a better place than I found it.” – @saraykhumalo talks to us about what happens when we play big. #NoApologyForMySuccess pic.twitter.com/zx1j7rRgMv

We need to network more and share our stories more. These opportunities allow us to truly own our success and make no apology for it.
We heard from some dynamic women who made it in their respective fields. Imagine what can happen if you also started playing big. The future is bright for women in finance. #NoApologyForMySuccess #SheOwnsHerSuccess pic.twitter.com/uNwGjR0y5O
