I value opportunities to talk about women’s sport and ways in which we can raise the profile of female athletes and the sports they play.
Speaking at the Wits Peak Performance Summit allowed me to share ways in which the gsport initiative has enhanced its offering to help women in sport build their brand.
After years of spoon feeding athletes, gsport has now launched a self-publishing facility on gsport.co.za which allows users to blog, add calendar entries and post an advert in the gsport Classifieds.
What this means is that women in sport can now firmly take charge of their personal brands and tell their stories in sport.
Women’s sport has many challenges to overcome and it often starts with one person doing one thing to change the course of the game.
What are you doing to build and shape your personal brand? Do you have a written profile and high res picture to distribute to media and other interested parties?
Mostly, what is your story: Who are you? What do you stand for?
Now that you are ready to build your brand, take up a free membership at gsport.co.za and get started!
Thank you to Adrian Stuart Carter and Michael Dick to the invitation and look forward to many more opportunities to raise the profile of women’s sport in South Africa.

The initiative has recently offered increased opportunities for SA women in sport to build their brands, including the ability to self-publish their news to the gsport Newsroom, uploading sporting events to the gsport Calendar, and promoting relevant products of services in the gsport Classifieds.
