Life has been busy and it’s been challenging managing everything.

With my flight delayed, I am grabbing the opportunity to blog 😊

I have felt like a hamster on a wheel these past few weeks, with three children on school holidays and the Mzansi Super League T20 in full swing.

I have been traveling  extensively since 8 November with short visits back home to catch my breath.

To make things even more interesting, I got a great opportunity to go to Mumbai in the middle of MSL T20 to fly the flag for women’s sport and learn more about growing gsport as a digital business.

Thank you to the South African Media innovation Program for the invitation to Mumbai to attend and be part of the Audience and Revenue Strategies Workshop at the Grand Hyatt.

Influential global media and digital experts  gathered to seek alternative methods to monetize and grow media businesses.

We learnt from outstanding thought leaders like Raju Narisetti, Samir Patil and Kartik Desai.

It was also enlightening to hear from other media owners how they are charting their way forward in an ever changing media landscape.

One highlight from the gathering was the chance to interview founder of SheThePeople.TV, Shaili Chopra, for gsport

I also enjoyed bonding with SAMIP participants including Pontsho Pilane from Health E-News and Sizwe Mpofu-Walsh from SMWX.

One of the great benefits of being part of the SAMIP program is capacity building initiatives like this in Mumbai which has helped gsport look at 2020 and beyond with new eyes.

Thank you to the Media Development Investment Fund for making it possible for all of us to gather and share insights from our respective parts of the world!

It was a short trip to India and I got right back into the thick of things back home with red hot MSL T20 action keeping me busy until next week.

Excited for some quality time with the kids in a few days time and an opportunity to reflect on an eventful 2019.
